Covid-19- Our response
Everyone has had to adapt their lifestyle in order to prevent the spreading of Covid-19; There is heartache, anxiety and worry. We all miss loved ones, family and friends.
Like many others, we had plans this year: building our distillery, gin lab and launching additional products. Unfortunately, some of those plans have been put on hold for the time being.
In March 2020 we were approached by a local Care Company who asked us if we could help with supply of hand rub. They were critically low and traditional supply chains were failing.
Luckily, a distillers skill set and their resources are transferable and interchangeable. As a result we were able to acquire a WHO recommended formula hand rub, which was used during the Ebola outbreak in 2015.
Hand Rub Formula 80% Alcohol
We set about sourcing new suppliers for bottles, safety equipment, labels and pumps. Space was an issue and with support from our awesome landlords (The Arch Co.) we now have more space, able to scale this project to a point were we can have an increasing impact.
Sourcing dispensing bottles in particular is still an issue, we've had orders cancelled, part delivered, which worse than trying to buy toilet roll a few weeks ago! However after some networking and help from friends we now have an immediate supply (The Little Soap Company have been a huge support)
Within 3 weeks, we made our first delivery to Unique Senior Care who have mobile careers looking after over 350 vulnerable individuals in their homes. We have made many, many deliveries, but none greet us with such genuine happiness and joy as the carer when we arrived with our hand rub. This is when knew we were doing the right thing.
This week (some 4 weeks after that delivery), Phil, a Director at USC told us that "because of our delivery they had good infection control and have had very few cases, somewhat thanks to [us]" . That is our motivation RIGHT THERE!!!!
We are committed to providing this product at low cost, ensuring those that require hand rub can gain access to it. Available online in our shop, for both local or national delivery.
